Visual anatomy & craft review
Christmas Scents is a plump holiday brush script with thick rounded strokes, a bouncy baseline and small mistletoe sprigs growing off the outer letters rather than sitting behind them. The leaf swashes are drawn thin against the heavy letter, so the contrast keeps the word legible at 20 mm while the foliage reads at 40 mm. Because the sprigs extend outward, the layout must reserve space at the start and end of any line. It is a card, tag and label face, best in one deep green or red on a warm ground.

Concrete hierarchy, scale and production guidance tailored to Christmas Scents’s stroke geometry.
Sprigs growing from the letters read as a printed botanical flourish, which keeps a card from needing a separate illustration. Heavy strokes hold on a candle label at 12 mm where a fine script would vanish.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
Card 120 x 170 mm, greeting 24 mm with 10 mm sprig allowance each side, message 8/12 pt, 14 mm margins. Label 55 x 45 mm, word 9 mm, 3 mm top arc. Tag 50 x 90 mm, word 9 mm, hole 5 mm clear.
Pre-production check
A 55 mm candle label cannot hold a sprig at 9 mm and the leaves collapse into dots. Keep the foliage on the card and tag, and set small labels in a plain companion so the word stays readable.
Warm brush script reads as a written note rather than a printed greeting, which is what a host gift wants. The leaf swashes add seasonal reference without a motif.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
Card 105 x 148 mm, greeting 18 mm, message 7/10 pt, 12 mm margins. Tag 45 x 80 mm, word 8 mm, hole 5 mm clear. Recipe card 105 x 148 mm, title 14 mm, method 8/11 pt.
Pre-production check
Favour tags are tied and swung against glass, and a printed sprig at the punch tears on the string. Keep 6 mm of clear card around the hole, and test one tied tag before the run.
Botanical sprigs read as winter greenery rather than festive decoration, so the face works after Christmas on a spice or preserve label. The contrast holds at 14 mm on a menu header.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
Label 70 x 50 mm, word 12 mm, 4 mm die margin. Jar band 200 x 40 mm, word 10 mm, 4 mm die margin. Menu 148 x 210 mm, header 20 mm, courses 9/13 pt, 15 mm margins.
Pre-production check
Spice jars are filled hot and labelled warm, and adhesive softens on a heated jar. Apply labels after cooling, use a high-tack synthetic stock, and check one filled jar after a day on the shelf.
