Elegant serif family spanning light to fat with a soft italic
Chelory is an elegant serif family that runs from a soft light to a fat display cut, in which the bowls stay wide and the italic leans with a calligraphic swing, so one purchase covers a headline and a deck.

Sturdy stroke walls and open counters weed cleanly on adhesive vinyl, HTV apparel film, and cut cardstock.
Visual anatomy & craft review
The C curls a wide crescent, the h rises on a slim stem, the e turns a level eye, the l sits on a light foot and the y drops a curved tail, all at a moderate contrast with fine serifs, while the family adds weight until the stems swell and the counters close. The range is the character: the sample sets one name in the light cut with a heavy cut beside it, which lets a design build hierarchy without a second family. Both ends hold from 26 pt upward, and the light cut needs a smooth stock. The cream ground, the shell, the small asterisk and the two credit lines are presentation; the dark serif words are the family.

The light and heavy cuts give a brand a hierarchy in one family, and the wide bowls keep a short name elegant at 24 pt on a carton.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
Print a 60 by 40 mm carton panel: set the brand name at 24 pt in the light cut, set the product type at 12 pt in the heavy cut beneath, and keep 6 mm of border so the descender stays on the flat panel.
Pre-production check
A light serif printed near a carton fold cracks; check the dieline and keep the whole word on one flat area.
The family covers both the head and the deck, and the moderate contrast holds at 60 pt over a plain ground on a printed page.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
Print an A4 spread: set the header at 60 pt in the light cut, set the deck at 24 pt in the heavy cut beneath, and keep 20 mm of clearance so the descenders do not touch the copy.
Pre-production check
Two weights of one family can look too similar at small sizes; check the proof and keep at least two steps between them.
The soft serif suits a relaxed reception, and the heavy cut keeps the course headings legible at 18 pt above lighter dish lines.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
Print a 105 by 210 mm menu: set the course headings at 18 pt in the heavy cut, set the dishes at 12 pt in the light cut, and keep 12 mm between courses so the serifs have air.
Pre-production check
A light cut at 12 pt on an uncoated menu can grey out; check the printed menu and raise the dish size if the strokes thin.
