Visual anatomy & craft review
Berlin is a fast forward-charging brush script with a strong upward slant, thick flat-brush strokes and sharp exit tails, drawn for streetwear and athletic warmups. The slant is steep enough to make a short word read as movement, and the flat brush edge gives the letters a cut silhouette rather than a soft one. It needs roughly 25 mm before the flat strokes read as brush rather than as blocks, and it is at its best in one colour with a hard offset shadow, or reversed out of a dark ground.

Concrete hierarchy, scale and production guidance tailored to Berlin’s stroke geometry.
Steep brush strokes read as a jersey script, which is the reference a streetwear or basketball brand borrows. The flat edge survives a screen print on a dark garment.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
Chest print 280 x 160 mm, word 70 mm, 40 mm margins and 50 mm from the collar. Jacket back 300 x 220 mm, word 90 mm. Deck 210 x 810 mm, word 120 mm on a 200 mm centre panel.
Pre-production check
A steep slant plus an offset shadow extends the artwork box and gets cropped when fitted to a page. Declare the box, and check one printed chest for a trimmed tail before the run.
Charging script reads as a printed sports headline, which suits a street-culture release. One ink with an offset second colour gives depth without a photograph.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
Cover 312 x 312 mm plus 3 mm bleed, word 220 mm, credits 7 pt. Poster A2, word 300 mm, details 22/28 pt, 30 mm margins. Spread 420 x 297 mm, headline 120 mm, body 9/13 pt.
Pre-production check
A two-colour offset shadow misregisters by 0.2 mm on a digital press and the whole cover looks blurred. Design a deliberate 0.5 mm offset, or set the shadow as a tint of the same ink.
Athletic script reads at distance on a court, where a thin display face would disappear. A single bright ink on a dark ground keeps the print cheap.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
Banner 2000 x 600 mm, word 340 mm, 120 mm margins, eyelets every 500 mm. Court sign 900 x 400 mm, word 180 mm, 60 mm margins. Shirt print 280 x 160 mm, word 60 mm.
Pre-production check
Banner vinyl sags between eyelets and a long slanted word bows with it. Keep 120 mm clear of every eyelet, and check one banner tensioned for a day before the event.
