Contrast serif capitals surrounded by butterflies, dotted trails and curling tendrils
Alex is an ultra-ornate serif in capitals where every stem grows a curl, the counters fill with dotted spirals, and the whole word spreads into flourishes that reach into the margin.

Sturdy stroke walls and open counters weed cleanly on adhesive vinyl, HTV apparel film, and cut cardstock.
Visual anatomy & craft review
ALEX is set in black at the centre of a watercolour ground of butterflies and pale leaves, and the letters are the most detailed thing on the card: the A carries a spiral in its counter, the L sprouts a stem of dotted curls, the E is built from two loops and the X finishes in a flourish that curls back under the word. Four drawn corner markers sit at the edges of the frame, and the whole composition is bordered by a fine ruled box that the flourishes deliberately cross. Captions in a plain sans above and below explain the edition and the formats, and a small box holds the file types. The contrast between the busy lettering and the calm captions is what holds the card together. This is a titling face for certificates, wedding suites and book plates, and it needs to be set large: below about 30 pt the dotted scrollwork becomes a dotted smear.

Concrete hierarchy, scale and production guidance tailored to Alex’s stroke geometry.
The ornament gives a formal document the weight of a printed certificate, and the capitals hold two names in a single line without a second typeface.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
Print a 210 by 297 mm certificate: set the names at 40 pt on one row, keep 30 mm of clear ground beneath before the date at 10 pt, and hold 22 mm from the longest flourish to the page trim.
Pre-production check
The dotted scrolls fill in below 24 pt; print one certificate at the finished size and check the counters before the signing.
The flourishes give a short title the presence of a plate, and the dotted detail holds up on a page that has no image and only a plain serif body.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
Print a 130 by 200 mm title page: set the title at 46 pt on one row, keep 34 mm of clear ground beneath before the author at 12 pt, and hold 20 mm from the outer curls to the page edge.
Pre-production check
Fine scrollwork clogs on uncoated book paper; print one page on the actual stock and inspect the thinnest line first.
The ornament suits a product that is decorated by hand, and one short word in this face fills a lid that would otherwise need a printed pattern.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
Print a 100 by 100 mm box lid: set the studio name at 30 pt on one row, keep 16 mm of clear ground beneath before the contact line at 6 pt, and hold 14 mm from the flourishes to the lid edge.
Pre-production check
Foil stamping needs a bolder minimum stroke; print one lid in the actual process and check the curls before the box order.
