Vine-wrapped angular serif
Skink is a heavy angular serif in black over a marbled green and gold ground: capitals with sharp joins, thick stems and a climbing vine with leaves and small grapes drawn across the strokes, set as one word above a character sample row and a round badge that names the formats.

Visual anatomy & craft review
The plate is a premium specimen with a character row, which is the practical part: five letters and three symbols at a smaller size show how the drawing behaves when it is not at display size. The letter is a heavy angular serif wrapped in a climbing vine, so the ornament runs through the strokes rather than sitting beside them, and the vine sets a large size floor because the leaves close first. The marbled ground and the gold flecks are staging. The badge names the included formats. Because the ornament is this dense, the face suits a label, a cover and a shirt for a botanical or a wine subject, and it is best at a size where the vine can be read.

A vine-wrapped label names the trade in the lettering, and the heavy stems hold a short name on a small die. It names the trade itself.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
Print a 55 by 85 mm label: the house at 12 pt, the vintage at 8 pt, and two colours on a coated stock. Keep 5 mm inside the die and simplify the vine below 16 pt.
Pre-production check
Check the 12 pt house on a small die, where the leaves close into a texture; use the plain cut there. Confirm the 8 pt vintage reads at arm's length and that the label holds in a cellar.
A vine display frames a wine cover, and the ornament runs through the title rather than sitting around it. It carries the title alone.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
Set the title at 90 mm cap height across 185 mm, the author in an 11 pt serif, and the imprint at 8 pt. Print two colours on a textured stock and keep 22 mm margins.
Pre-production check
Check the title at 90 mm, where a leaf can clot; keep the counters open. Confirm the 8 pt imprint survives lamination and that the vine clears the trim.
A vine display prints as estate kit, and the heavy stems read on a light shirt where a fine face would look weak. It reads as estate kit.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
Print a 260 mm chest graphic: the estate at 60 mm cap height, the year at 26 mm, and two inks on a light shirt. Keep the smallest leaf at 4 mm and place the graphic 80 mm below the collar.
Pre-production check
Check the screen at actual mesh, where a 4 mm leaf can fill; enlarge it. Wash-test one shirt and confirm the vine stays legible after five cycles.
