Upright flared caps
Romantic is an upright moderately contrasting serif in white over a pink portrait: wide caps with gently flared ends, even spacing and an open counter, set as one word across the plate with a small handwritten line above and a tracked line beneath.

Fine grain and micro-texture excel in 300 DPI print, sublimation, and screen print rather than small vinyl weeding.
Visual anatomy & craft review
The word spans the width and the drawing is a moderate serif in caps: the ends flare slightly, the joins are even, and the counters are open, which gives the face a calm, confident voice rather than a decorative one. The plate sets it over a soft photograph so the white reads across the pink, and the two small lines above and beneath are set in different faces, which shows how the lettering behaves next to handwriting. The face is honest about being a display cut in caps only, and the specimen keeps one word so the spacing is judged as a whole. Because the contrast is moderate, the face also works at large text sizes, and the plate is a fair test of it against a mid-toned background.

Concrete hierarchy, scale and production guidance tailored to Romantic’s stroke geometry.
A flared serif reads as a shop rather than a corporation, and the open counters hold on a small card where a tighter face would clot.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
Set the mark at 18 pt on a card, 85 mm on a fascia and 12 pt in a footer, keeping the caps uncut. Keep one colour and clear space equal to the cap height.
Pre-production check
Check the 12 pt footer on uncoated paper, where the flared ends can fill; keep the size above 11 pt. Confirm the fascia reads at six metres and that the mark holds reversed out.
A moderate serif gives a daytime invitation a warm formality, and the open counters read across a table where a fine didone would fade.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
A5 invitation: the names at 26 pt, the request at 10 pt in a small serif, and the date at 9 pt caps. Keep 22 mm margins and print one ink on a cream card.
Pre-production check
Check the 26 pt names on cream card, where the flared ends can merge with the next letter; add a little tracking. Confirm the 10 pt request reads at arm's length and that the names clear the trim.
A warm serif gives a personal book a human cover, and the even spacing keeps a long title readable at thumbnail size on a shop shelf.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
Set the title at 80 mm cap height across 190 mm, the subtitle in a 12 pt serif, and the author at 9 pt. Print one ink on a cream stock and keep the title in the upper half.
Pre-production check
Check the title at thumbnail size, where open counters can look empty; tighten the spacing slightly. Confirm the 9 pt author survives lamination and that the title clears the trim.
