Retro serif with curved details on the capitals
Semika is a beautifully retro serif in cream on a muted photograph: moderate contrast, tall wide capitals with curved details on the S and the A, and a foot that curls, set as one word with a tracked caption beneath and two small sparkles.

Visual anatomy & craft review
The word runs on one line across the upper part of the page and the face is a retro serif with a few drawn gestures: the stems are moderately heavy, the joins carry a soft contrast, the serifs are fine flats, and the S opens with a curve that lifts above the baseline while the A finishes its right leg with a small curl. Those details are the whole character of the face, and they are used sparingly, on two or three letters only, so the word still reads as a serif rather than an ornament. The letters are wide and generously spaced, which gives the block an airy, printed look, and a tracked capital line beneath names the style. Two small four-point sparkles are placed at the left, and the ground is a muted, out-of-focus photograph seen through an arch, which keeps the cream type legible. Semika is a serif for editorial titles, packaging, invitations and branding, and it needs a wide measure and a quiet ground.

A retro serif with two drawn gestures gives a title page character without ornament, and the wide measure lets a long title sit on one line.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
Print a 200 by 260 mm title page: set the title at 52 pt on one line, keep 34 mm of clear ground beneath before the author at 10 pt, and hold 24 mm of margin on all four sides.
Pre-production check
A long title in a wide face will run past the measure; set the real text before the layout is fixed.
A calm serif gives a paper bag the look of a shop with a history, and the moderate weight reproduces on a cheap one-colour print.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
Print a 70 by 45 mm bag label: set the name at 15 pt on one line, keep 5 mm of clear ground beneath before the address at 5 pt, and hold 4 mm of margin on all four sides.
Pre-production check
A bag label creases in the hand; print one on the real paper and check the letters at the fold.
A retro serif gives a wedding card warmth without a script, and the curly details add a flourish a plain serif would lack.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
Print a 130 by 190 mm card: set the names at 26 pt on one line, keep 20 mm of clear ground beneath before the details at 8 pt, and hold 14 mm of margin on all four sides.
Pre-production check
Curled details are fine and can break in letterpress; order one proof in the real process before the suite.
