Visual anatomy & craft review
The name is written across a sheet of ruled notepaper and the face is a playful handwriting: the letters are fat and rounded with a nearly even stroke, the P has a large open bowl, the l and the t stand tall with blunt tops, the y drops a curved tail below the line, and the baseline bounces so each letter sits at a slightly different height. The joins are absent, so the bounciness has to be deliberate rather than a side effect of connecting, and the counters stay large, which keeps a rounded face readable at a small size. The presentation adds a purple highlighter block behind a second, smaller word, a spiral binding across the top of the sheet, drawn cats at the left and a scatter of stars, pencils and balloons around the page. Playnote is a handwriting face for notes, planners, packaging and children's products, and it suits short phrases where the bounce can be seen.

Concrete hierarchy, scale and production guidance tailored to Playnote’s stroke geometry.
A rounded bouncy hand makes a planner feel personal, and the fat letters stay legible when reproduced on a cheap cover stock.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
Print a 148 by 210 mm cover: set the title at 38 pt over two lines, keep 16 mm of clear ground beneath before the school year at 12 pt, and hold 16 mm of margin on all four sides.
Pre-production check
A bouncy baseline on two lines can collide at the descenders; proof the cover at the final size and check the gap.
A playful hand signals instructions that are easy to follow, and the rounded shapes hold up beside photographs of hands at work.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
Print a 210 by 280 mm page: set the heading at 30 pt on one line, keep 12 mm of clear ground beneath before the steps at 10 pt, and hold 18 mm of margin on all four sides.
Pre-production check
A fat hand at thirty points can look heavy above small body text; compare the weights in proof before the run.
A rounded hand suits a children's party, and a short name set large fills a small label without an illustration on the side of the bag.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
Print a 50 by 30 mm label: set the name at 14 pt on one line, keep 5 mm of clear ground on all four sides, and hold the label 8 mm below the top fold of the bag.
Pre-production check
A small label with a bouncy baseline can look off-centre; print one sheet and check the alignment before the order.
