Wide didone capitals with hairline serifs
Magazine is a didone serif in white over a beauty photograph: very wide capital letters, hairline serifs, extreme contrast between the stems and the thins, and generous spacing, with a tracked line of smaller capitals beneath.

Crisp hairline serifs shine on stationery, foil stamping, and packaging; add slight offset for small decals.
Visual anatomy & craft review
The word is set in capitals across a photograph of two faces and the face is a didone built for mastheads: the stems are heavy and the thins are hairlines, the serifs are flat and unbracketed, the M and the W are wide with thin diagonals, the G carries a small spur, and the spacing is opened so far that the letters read as separate marks rather than a word. That spacing is what lets a photograph show between the letters, and it is also what makes the face unsuitable for long words on a narrow page. Two tracked capital lines sit above and below in the same face at a smaller size, and the sample keeps the background a close crop of faces in warm shadow so the white type has something to sit on. Magazine is a serif for fashion covers, title pages, invitations and luxury packaging, and it needs capitals, a wide format and a printer who can hold a hairline on coated stock.

A wide didone is the language of a fashion masthead, and the open spacing keeps the title legible over a portrait that runs edge to edge.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
Print a 230 by 300 mm cover: set the masthead at 120 pt on one line, keep 28 mm of clear ground beneath before the coverlines at 10 pt, and hold 14 mm of margin at the top and sides.
Pre-production check
A hairline on a dark photograph can disappear; proof one cover at final size and check the thinnest strokes.
A didone label reads as premium at a glance, and the wide spacing suits a short brand name printed around a round vessel.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
Print a 60 mm round label: set the name at 13 pt on one line, keep 6 mm of clear ground beneath before the weight at 4 pt, and hold the artwork 5 mm inside the die.
Pre-production check
A round die trims the wide edge letters; keep the block inside the safe area and print one label before the batch.
A wide serif in capitals gives a formal card its ceremony, and the spacing lets a pair of names sit without a decorative border.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
Print a 130 by 190 mm card: set the names at 24 pt on one line, keep 22 mm of clear ground beneath before the details at 8 pt, and hold 16 mm of margin on all four sides.
Pre-production check
Hairline serifs squeeze under letterpress; order one proof in the real process and check the joins.
