Elegant serif with drawn ligatures and a wide flowing fit
Kovela is an elegant serif in which the ligatures tie neighbouring letters into one flowing shape, the contrast stays high and the fit runs wide, so a short name reads as a designed wordmark rather than as a typeset line.

Sturdy stroke walls and open counters weed cleanly on adhesive vinyl, HTV apparel film, and cut cardstock.
Visual anatomy & craft review
The K throws a long leg into a ligature with the following vowel, the o stays wide and round, the v narrows to a fine point, the e turns a level eye, the l rises on a slim stem and the a closes a small bowl, all at a high contrast with fine serifs and drawn connections between selected pairs. The ligatures are the character: they appear when the alternates are switched on, which is why the sample sets one name at large size on a plain ground. Because the strokes are wide and fine, the face needs 30 pt upward and a smooth stock, and the ligatures need a test before they are relied on in a long line. The brown wall, the sofa, the pillows and the four benefit lines are presentation; the cream serif name is the face.

Concrete hierarchy, scale and production guidance tailored to Kovela’s stroke geometry.
The drawn ligatures give a studio a mark that reads as one object, and the wide fit keeps a short name legible at 24 pt on a card.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
Print an 85 by 55 mm card: set the studio name at 24 pt with the ligatures on, set the address in a 6 pt sans at the foot, and keep 12 mm of white so the ligature has room to swing.
Pre-production check
A ligature set against a tight margin looks cut; check the card and keep 10 mm of clear space on the side the ligature opens toward.
The elegant wide serif suits a contemporary ceremony, and the ligature gives a pair of names one joined gesture at 28 pt.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
Print a 130 by 180 mm card: set both names at 28 pt with the ligature between the initials, set the details in an 8 pt caps serif 22 mm beneath, and keep 20 mm of margin.
Pre-production check
A ligature across two names can read as one word; check the proof and switch the alternate off if the join is ambiguous.
The wide fit fills a column head without stretching, and the high contrast still holds over a full-bleed photograph at 64 pt.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
Print an A4 spread: set the header at 64 pt across the top, set the standfirst in a 10 pt sans beneath, and keep 20 mm of clearance so the ligature's curve does not touch the copy.
Pre-production check
A hairline ligature over a busy image disappears; check the proof and keep the header on the flat part of the photograph.
