Visual anatomy & craft review
Farmhouse Christmas is a duo of a tall rounded farmhouse sans and an airy monoline cursive: the sans carries prices and lists with blunt ends and open counters, while the cursive is a light even stroke with wide loops for names and greetings. The light cursive is the weakest element in print, and the sans stacks a long line in a narrow label. The cursive needs roughly 24 mm and the sans 18 mm for their detail to read, and both are best in one dark ink on kraft or cream.

A tall farmhouse sans with a light cursive lets one tag carry a name and a weight in one palette. The cursive holds at 22 mm on a tag, and the sans sets the details at 8 pt in the same order.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
Tag 50 x 90 mm, cursive 22 mm with 8 mm loop clearance, sans 8 mm, 5 mm hole with 8 mm clear. Jar label 70 x 45 mm, cursive 14 mm, sans 7 mm, 4 mm die margin. Card A6, cursive 26 mm, sans 8/11 pt.
Pre-production check
A 70 x 45 mm jar label at 14 mm drops the monoline under 0.2 mm and the name prints as a broken thread on kraft. Raise the label to 20 mm or use the sans, and check one labelled jar before the batch.
A tall farmhouse sans reads as a hand-painted market board rather than a printed menu, which is what a stall wants in the cold. The sans holds at 26 mm on a board, and the cursive signs the stall name at 60 mm in the same pass.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
Board 600 x 900 mm, sans 26 mm, cursive 70 mm with 10 mm loop clearance, 30 mm margins. Price card 105 x 75 mm, item 18 mm, price 24 mm. Bag print 200 x 250 mm, cursive 50 mm, 15 mm margins.
Pre-production check
A 105 x 75 mm price card at 18 mm fills the open counters and the item reads as a bar in low winter light. Raise the item to 24 mm, and check one card under the market lamp.
A light cursive reads as a written acknowledgement rather than a printed line, which is what a maker wants in the bag. The cursive holds at 22 mm on a card, and the sans sets the address at 8 pt in the same order.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
Card A6, cursive 22 mm with 8 mm loop clearance, sans 8/11 pt, 12 mm margins. Market tag 50 x 90 mm, cursive 20 mm, sans 8 mm, 5 mm hole with 8 mm clear. Wrap band 200 x 40 mm, cursive 16 mm, 6 mm margins.
Pre-production check
On a 200 x 40 mm band the cursive crosses the fold and splits when the band is wrapped. Keep the word 8 mm clear of the crease, and wrap one band before the order.
