Soft upright script with a heavy even stroke and open round bowls
Amelira is a modern upright script in one soft weight, its bowls round and open, its ascenders short and its joins heavy enough to keep a word together without any calligraphic contrast.

Visual anatomy & craft review
The capital A opens with a light entry that rises into a rounded apex before the stem drops, and the letters after it keep the same softness: the m and the e close wide bowls, the l rises only a little above the x-height, the i carries a round dot and the r keeps a short arm without a flourish. Weight is even from the first stroke to the last, with almost no difference between stems and joins, which is what makes the word read as a written ribbon rather than as drawn lettering. The final a exits in a small hook rather than a long tail, so the word finishes quietly. Terminals are rounded, the baseline is level and the counters stay open. The drawn leaves, the round badge and the two tracked captions are presentation; the script is the word.

Concrete hierarchy, scale and production guidance tailored to Amelira’s stroke geometry.
An even soft script prints cleanly at the size of a jar label and reads as a maker's own handwriting, and the open bowls survive being reproduced small on a curved surface.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
Set the brand at 13 pt on a 45 by 65 mm label, keep the volume in a 6 pt sans, and leave 6 mm of clearance so the final hook does not touch the label edge.
Pre-production check
Curved labels compress the letters at the edges; check the printed label wrapped on the actual jar and shorten the word rather than shrinking the type.
The upright even weight keeps a menu header calm and legible under low light, and the short ascenders let the header sit close to the first course without crowding it.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
Set the heading at 24 pt on an A5 menu, keep the dishes in a 9 pt serif at 12 pt leading, and hold 10 mm between the heading and the first course line.
Pre-production check
Candlelight thins an even stroke very little, but cream stock can grey it; print one menu on the real paper and view it in dim light before the run.
A soft even script signs off a column in a warmer register than a byline, and the open counters stay readable at a size small enough for a page foot.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
Set the sign-off at 14 pt at the foot of the column, keep the contributor note in a 7 pt serif, and hold 8 mm above so the short ascenders clear the last line of text.
Pre-production check
A soft script at 14 pt can read as a smudge on newsprint; check the page proof and raise the sign-off to 16 pt if it stops resolving.
