Letterform structure
of Tiki Tropical Summer.
The T stretches into a tall slab with a carved face inside, the I repeats as a narrow bar, the K splays two thick arms, while a second cut waves its baseline and a third sets an outline with a woodgrain fill. The mix is the character: the family is built to be layered, which is why the sample stacks a carved line, a wavy line and an outlined line in three colours. The carved forms need 50 pt before the faces read and the outlined cut needs 60 pt to keep its inner line open. The cream ground, the toucans, the tiki masks at the edges and the orange banner are presentation; the three coloured lines are the family.
