High-contrast serif with ornamental spirals
Sundan is a beautiful serif in cream over a warm photograph: high contrast, wide letters, and ornamental spirals that leave the S and the d, one rising above the word and one curling below it, with a small badge at the foot.

Crisp hairline serifs shine on stationery, foil stamping, and packaging; add slight offset for small decals.
Visual anatomy & craft review
The word runs on one line and the face is a serif with ornament built into the letters: the stems are heavy, the joins hairlines, the serifs fine flats, and from the S a spiral rises above the word and returns to the baseline, while from the d a second spiral drops below and curls back up. Those spirals are drawn at hairline weight, so they act as a frame rather than as letters, and they are balanced so the block stays centred. The letters are wide and spaced evenly, which gives the word a calm, printed air, and the contrast is high enough to read as a rhythm at display size. A caption beneath names the face and the studio, a small oval badge carries a marker, and the ground is a warm, softly lit photograph. Sundan is a serif for editorial titles, packaging, invitations and branding, and it needs a wide measure, a large size and space above and below for the spirals.

A serif with built-in spirals gives a spread its ornament, and the wide letterforms fill a page without a second element.
Hierarchy & layout recipe

Pre-production check
The spirals need headroom and footroom; set the block on the page and check both margins before printing.
A warm serif gives a bottle a hand-finished look, and the spirals can be dropped so the label stays quiet on a small die.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
Print a 45 by 75 mm bottle label: set the name at 12 pt on one line, keep 5 mm of clear ground beneath before the volume at 3.5 pt, and hold 3.5 mm of margin on all four sides.
Pre-production check
Hairline spirals can break on a small label; print one on the real stock and check the thinnest lines.
A serif with a spiral flourish gives a wedding card its gesture without a script, and the wide fit suits two long names on one line.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
Print a 148 by 210 mm card: set the names at 28 pt on one line, keep 24 mm of clear ground beneath before the details at 8 pt, and hold 16 mm of margin on all four sides.
Pre-production check
