High-contrast display serif crossed by a long swash
Kinaya is a high-contrast display serif in which the capitals stand tall and one long swash crosses the whole word, so a single name reads as a couture lockup rather than as a plain title.

Crisp hairline serifs shine on stationery, foil stamping, and packaging; add slight offset for small decals.
Visual anatomy & craft review
The K throws a hairline leg, the I stands as a plain stem with fine serifs, the N keeps two thin stems with a hairline diagonal, the A pinches a sharp apex and the Y splays two arms, all at a high contrast with fine serifs, while a swash enters at the left and leaves at the right across the baseline. The swash is the character: it ties the letters into one gesture, which is why the sample sets a single name large over a photograph. Because the hairlines are very fine, the face needs 44 pt upward and a coated stock, and it works in reverse. The portrait, the oval badge and the small caps in the corners are presentation; the white display name is the face.

The crossing swash gives a studio one recognisable gesture, and the fine serifs hold a short name at 24 pt on a coated card in one colour.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
Print an 85 by 55 mm card: set the atelier name at 24 pt, let the swash run 8 mm past the last letter, and keep 12 mm of white so the hairline finishes inside the card.
Pre-production check
A hairline swash printed near the trim looks cut; check the imposed card and pull the whole lockup inward by 5 mm.
The swash gives a cover one drawn gesture, and the high contrast holds at 100 pt over a portrait with a clear band behind it.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
Print an A4 cover: set the name at 100 pt across the middle third over the calmest part of the photograph, set the issue line in a 9 pt caps sans 24 mm beneath, and keep 25 mm of margin.
Pre-production check
A hairline swash over a textured photograph disappears; check the proof and keep the lockup on the flattest band of the image.
The crossing swash suits an engraved invitation, and the fine contrast keeps a two-name card light at 28 pt on heavy cotton stock.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
Print a 130 by 180 mm card: set both names at 28 pt with the swash running beneath them, set the details in an 8 pt caps serif 20 mm below the swash, and keep 18 mm of margin.
Pre-production check
A swash printed across a fold cracks on the crease; check the folded card and keep the whole lockup below the crease line.
