Angled brush script with dry-brushed edges and an underline swash
Hidden Stories is a dry brush script that leans hard to the right, its strokes ragged at the edges and broken where the brush lifted, with a single long underline swash finishing the second word.

Fine grain and micro-texture excel in 300 DPI print, sublimation, and screen print rather than small vinyl weeding.
Visual anatomy & craft review
The capital H starts as a narrow vertical that bends forward at the foot, and the letter after it rises higher than the capital, so the word climbs rather than sitting on a level line. Every stroke shows the texture of a loaded bristle brush: edges are irregular, some strokes split into two, and the tops of letters are thinner than the bases. The o and the e keep their counters open but rough, and the r and the s carry a small dry gap where the brush skipped. The second line is set on the same angle, indented to the right, and finishes with a single sweeping underline that lifts off the page at its end, which is the only element that runs beyond the letters. The cream ground and the two tracked serif labels are presentation; the script is the two words.

A dry brush script with texture reads as hand-painted on a shop window, which is the register an independent bookshop wants, and the rough edges survive being enlarged across a fascia.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
Set the shop name at 30 cm on the window, keep the opening hours in a plain grotesque at 5 cm below, and hold 15 cm clear on the right so the underline swash finishes inside the glass rather than running off it.
Pre-production check
Window paint on glass beads if the brush is loaded; ask the signwriter to keep the dry breaks visible as drawn rather than closing them for neatness.
The angled brush strokes give a personal history a cover that looks written by its subject rather than designed for it, and the underline swash can carry the author's name without a second typeface.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
Set the title in two lines at 56 pt on the upper half of the cover, keep the author's name in the narrow caps of the same family at 14 pt under the swash, and leave the lower third for the publisher mark.
Pre-production check
A textured brush stroke on a matte laminated cover can look like print noise; check a laminated proof at final size and darken the stroke edges if the texture reads as damage.
Dry brush lettering suits a venue with timber and linen, and the underline swash gives a short couple's name enough width to hold a large board without adding ornaments.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
Set the names at 14 cm on a 700 by 500 mm board, set the date in the same face at 3 cm on the second line, and keep 10 cm of margin so the swash finishes clear of the frame.
Pre-production check
Lettering directly on reclaimed timber will break along the grain; prime the board, then check that the swash still lifts cleanly at the end before the sign is installed.
