Visual anatomy & craft review
The word sits on a pale yellow card with a soft drop shadow, and the letterforms are almost monoline in weight, so the personality comes from proportion rather than from contrast. The B carries a wide lower loop that swings back under the first letter, the e and r keep tight rounded bowls, and the twin t stems reach noticeably higher than the ascenders of the surrounding letters, which is the detail that makes the sample look hand-drawn rather than neutral. Connections are short and close to the baseline, so the word reads as one compact mass from a distance. The small tracked label above and the handwritten note below are separate lines, not part of the alphabet.

Concrete hierarchy, scale and production guidance tailored to Better’s stroke geometry.
Uniform heavy strokes survive a rubber stamp and a single-colour print far better than a high-contrast script, and the compact mass reads across a counter.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
Keep the stamp at 25 mm wide with the script at 16 pt, allow the twin t stems to be the tallest element, and leave 3 mm of rubber around the heaviest stroke.
Pre-production check
Stamps bleed outward, so test the tight connections first; a heavy script can close up into a solid block at very small sizes.
The compact even weight scales up without becoming fussy, which suits a welcome board that guests will photograph all evening.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
Set the phrase at 3-inch height on an A2 board, keep it to two words, and leave 8 cm under the baseline for the lower B loop if the word starts with B.
Pre-production check
Check the lower loop clearance before you centre the word, because the loop extends further left than the first stem.
Thick even strokes are what a cutting machine needs, and the connected mass welds into one solid shape with fewer joints than a fine script.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
Scale the phrase to 5-inch width for a 6-inch topper, weld the connections before cutting, and keep the twin t stems at least 1.5 mm thick at that size.
Pre-production check
Even a heavy script thins at the joins, so run a test cut on the same material before the final sheet.
