Foundry portfolio · Sans serif · Display · Script
Surplus Type Co. works technical sans with an alpine flavour. Highfield is measured and modern, Après Ski is bolder and sportier, and the three releases suit outdoor branding and signage.

Outdoor branding is read at distance and in weather. Check the counters at sign size rather than in a mock-up.
Widely spaced thin contrast capitals with flat arms and a broad rounded D
Highfield sets pale uppercase lettering across a dark blue-green field, where slender horizontal arms meet stronger upright strokes, the G carries a fine open curve and the D a broad rounded bowl, and the wide letter spacing stretches a short word across the whole width.

Heavy angular capitals with small round counters and a detached acute accent
Apres Ski sets a retro grotesque at a steep angle across a snowy slope, its capitals wide, its corners notched and its counters cut with shapes that look borrowed from ski graphics of the seventies.

Monoline signature script
Summer Faith is a thin monoline signature script in white on a muted blue-green ground: a single stroke weight, long flowing crossbars, a looped S and a T whose arm crosses far past the letter, set under a shadow of window bars.
