Modern upright script with a heart-shaped capital loop
Hanley is a modern script in which the capital rises into a heart-shaped loop, the body stays upright and the joins stay even, so a single name reads as something written on a card with a fine brush pen.

Visual anatomy & craft review
The H climbs into a loop that folds into a heart, the a closes a round bowl, the n keeps two even shoulders, the l rises on a slim stem, the e turns a light eye and the y drops a wide tail, all at an even brush-pen weight with a slight right slant and a heart terminal at the end of the capital. The heart loop is the character: it sits above the word as its only ornament, which is why the sample sets one name large on a plain ground. Because the stroke is even, the face holds from 24 pt and prints in one colour; the loop needs room above the x-height. The painted white ground, the falling leaves and the round letterspaced badge are presentation; the black script name is the face.

Concrete hierarchy, scale and production guidance tailored to Hanley’s stroke geometry.
The heart loop gives a celebration card its one gesture, and the even stroke keeps a single name elegant at 34 pt without extra ornament.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
Print an A6 card: set the name at 34 pt across the middle, set the date in a 10 pt caps sans beneath, and keep 14 mm of margin so the heart loop finishes inside the trim.
Pre-production check
A loop printed to the trim looks cut; check the printed card and lower the word by 5 mm rather than shrinking the loop.
The modern script gives a small bakery a personal mark, and the even weight reproduces in one colour at 20 pt on a kraft label.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
Print a 60 by 40 mm label: set the bakery name at 20 pt, set the phone line in a 6 pt sans at the foot, and keep 5 mm of white so the tail of the y is not clipped by the die.
Pre-production check
A wide tail printed near a die edge looks cut; check the imposed label and raise the word 2 mm.
The heart loop carries the occasion on its own, and the even stroke keeps a short message readable at 26 pt on matte stock.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
Print a 105 by 148 mm card: set the name at 26 pt in the upper half, set two lines of greeting in a 9 pt sans beneath, and keep 12 mm of clearance so the loop has air above it.
Pre-production check
A loop crowded by a line above looks cramped; check the card and open 8 mm of space above the word.
