Modern elegant serif with a fine italic companion
Elian Covaire is a modern elegant serif in which the roman stays wide and the italic leans with a calligraphic swing, so a two-word label reads as a fragrance house mark rather than as a headline.

Crisp hairline serifs shine on stationery, foil stamping, and packaging; add slight offset for small decals.
Visual anatomy & craft review
The E sets three wide arms on a slim stem, the l rises a full ascender, the i carries a light dot, the a closes a small eye, the n turns two even shoulders and the roman's C holds a fine bowl, while the italic swings the same shapes with a faster rhythm, all at a high contrast with fine serifs. The roman and italic pairing is the character: the sample sets one word upright and one slanted, which gives a two-line lockup its movement. Both cuts hold from 30 pt upward and need a smooth stock for the hairlines. The russet ground, the bottle, the leaves, the small caps in the corners and the rules are presentation; the cream display words are the face.

The roman and italic pair gives a fragrance label its hierarchy, and the fine hairlines print cleanly at 22 pt on a coated label.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
Print a 55 by 80 mm label: set the house name at 22 pt in the roman, set the scent at 18 pt in the italic beneath, and keep 5 mm of border so the hairlines stay inside the die.
Pre-production check
Hairlines printed on a curved bottle label distort at the wrap; check the applied label and keep the word 8 mm from the curve.
The high contrast carries a beauty feature opener, and the italic lets a deck line answer the roman title at 96 pt and 30 pt.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
Print an A4 opener: set the title at 96 pt in the roman across the upper half, set the deck at 30 pt in the italic beneath, and keep 25 mm of clearance above the body copy.
Pre-production check
A hairlined italic deck printed small can look faint; check the proof and keep the deck at 30 pt or above.
The pair covers both wedding names without a second family, and the roman and italic both hold at 28 pt on a heavy cotton card.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
Print a 130 by 180 mm card: set the first name at 28 pt in the roman, set the second at 28 pt in the italic below, and keep 16 mm of leading so the fine serifs do not touch.
Pre-production check
Two hairlined lines stacked tightly can merge; check the printed card and open the leading to 1.4 times the size.
