Visual anatomy & craft review
The capital D begins as a large open loop above the cap line before its stem drops and swells, and the lowercase that follows keeps a formal rhythm: the a and the r close tightly, the l and the i rise into narrow loops, the n holds an even shoulder and the e finishes into a flourish that lifts and curls back. Weight alternates between heavy shaded downstrokes and hairline joins, and the whole word is bracketed by wide open flourishes on both sides, which is what gives it the ornament of engraved stationery. Ends taper to fine points, and the loops stay open so the counters read at any size. The dark ground, the green accent word and the two tracked captions are presentation; the calligraphy is the word.

Concrete hierarchy, scale and production guidance tailored to Darline Script’s stroke geometry.
The ornate flourishes and the strong contrast give a formal invitation the engraved look, and the bracketed entry and exit let a single name hold the centre of a large card.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
Set both names at 30 pt on a 130 by 190 mm card, set the details in a small caps serif at 8 pt, and hold 20 mm below the flourishes so the details have clear air.
Pre-production check
Hairline joins under 0.1 mm drop out of offset; ask for the printer's minimum line weight and thicken the joins rather than reducing the contrast.
The ornate construction reads as engraved glass lettering at small size, and the shaded stems hold up when the label is printed in one colour.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
Set the house name at 14 pt on a 40 by 80 mm label, keep the volume in a 5 pt caps serif, and leave 7 mm of clearance so the exit flourish stays inside the label edge.
Pre-production check
Foil on an ornate flourish bridges at the tight curls; check a foil dummy at final size and simplify the smallest curl before the die is cut.
An ornate script gives a title page its formality, and the strong contrast keeps the title readable at a distance from the page.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
Set the title at 38 pt on an A5 title page, set the author in a small caps serif at 10 pt, and leave 22 mm between the exit flourish and the first line of the imprint.
Pre-production check
Uncoated book stock closes hairlines and swells shaded stems; print the title page on the actual paper and adjust the fit rather than the contrast.
