Fine high-contrast serif with tall proportions and an oversized curled S
Soneo is a fine high-contrast serif in which the letters run tall and narrow, the hairlines are true hairlines and the capital S curls far beyond its letter body, so a name reads as a fashion masthead.

Crisp hairline serifs shine on stationery, foil stamping, and packaging; add slight offset for small decals.
Visual anatomy & craft review
The S is the defining letter: a tall narrow spine with a curl that opens above and sweeps out below, extending past the width of every other capital in the word. The O closes an oval counter, the N keeps two fine stems, the E carries three thin arms and the O repeats the oval, all with heavy vertical strokes and hairlines that nearly disappear at the joins. That contrast is what gives the face its editorial register, and it is also what limits reproduction: the face needs a coated stock and a size of 24 pt or more, or the hairlines will break up. The fit is tight so the curling S overlaps its neighbour deliberately. The model photograph, the shadow on the wall, the black ink and the tracked caption are presentation; the typeface is the word.

Concrete hierarchy, scale and production guidance tailored to Soneo’s stroke geometry.
The curled S gives a masthead its signature gesture, and the fine contrast still reads at 30 pt on a coated card under shop lighting.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
Print a 120 by 60 mm brand card: set the name at 30 pt across the centre, set the season in a 6 pt caps sans beneath, and keep 10 mm of margin so the curl of the S is not cut by the trim.
Pre-production check
A hairline under 0.1 mm drops out in offset; ask the printer for the minimum line and thicken the hairlines rather than the stems.
The wide fine serif makes a spread title feel commissioned, and the tall proportions let a long word hold a single line at 72 pt.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
Print an A4 spread: set the title at 72 pt across the left page, set the standfirst in a 10 pt serif at 14 pt leading, and hold 18 mm below the title so the curling S does not overlap the text column.
Pre-production check
An oversized curl can collide with the column below; check the imposed spread and lift the title rather than shortening the curl.
The fine contrast gives a small bottle label a couture register, and the tall letters stay readable at 12 pt when printed on coated stock.
Hierarchy & layout recipe
Print a 40 by 80 mm coated label: set the name at 12 pt, set the volume in a 5 pt caps sans at the foot, and keep 5 mm of margin so the curl of the S stays on the flat of the label.
Pre-production check
A curl wrapping a bottle curve distorts; check one labelled bottle and keep the lettering within the flat central band.
